Itinerary
- Monday, August 16th
- Early morning flights from Seattle to Baltimore, arriving between 4:30 and 6:00. Transfer to Inner Harbor hotel. We’ll meet in a rendezvous spot for a welcome cocktail and to meet other group members. We’re staying very close to the ballpark at the harbor, which is a great place to stroll in the evening.
Overnight Baltimore
- Tuesday, August, 17th
- Game time this evening isn’t until 7pm, so we have the morning for our tour of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. Your afternoon is free to explore the city on your own. This afternoon we will enjoy a 60 minute tour of Camden Yards prior to the game.
Overnight Baltimore
- Wednesday, August 18th
- We’re off early this morning for the hour long drive to Washington where we will be joined by our guide for an orientation tour of the city and monuments. We’ll wrap up in time for lunch before breaking for the afternoon and free time to see the city in more detail or visit one of the many museums associated with the Smithsonian. We leave DC in the afternoon to arrive back at the hotel about an hour before game time at 7:00pm.
Overnight Baltimore
- Thursday, August 19th
- We depart Maryland this morning on our way north to Pennsylvania and Gettysburg. This 90 minute drive will get us into town to meet our guide for an orientation tour of the battlefield site before checking into our hotel.
Overnight Gettysburg
- Friday, August 20th
- Our drive this morning into New York takes us through the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country. We will stop near Lancaster to break for lunch before continuing on to the city. Our game time this evening is at 7:00, which will allow us time to get settled into the hotel and provide an orientation for the New York transportation system. We will leave the hotel together for our ride to the Bronx on the #4 Train.
Overnight New York
- Saturday, August 21st
- Game time isn’t published for either Saturday or Sunday, so we will have to wait until that time to schedule our sightseeing. In the past, we have taken the circle line tour in the evening around the lower tip of Manhattan. The water is an excellent way to view the island.
Overnight New York
- Sunday, August 22nd
- I expect an afternoon game today, which is common for Sunday games, especially with a travel date the following day. When time is published, I will provide some sightseeing options, perhaps a Broadway show, a visit to the Guggenheim, or Ellis Island.
Overnight New York
- Monday, August 23rd
- We will depart the hotel early this morning for the Bronx and an opportunity to tour the new ballpark completed by the Yankee Organization for the 2009 season. After the tour of Yankee Stadium, we will travel around the north coast of Long Island Sound to Mystic Connecticut, a great place to break for lunch. From there, we continue on to Boston where the Red Sox open a three game series with the Mariners this evening. Our hotel is located Boston’s Back Bay, less than a mile from Fenway Park. It’s a nice walk to the ball park or you can use your transit pass to take the train to the game.
Overnight Boston
- Tuesday, August 24th
- This morning we are combining our Duck Tour of Boston and the Charles River with a 90 minute tour of Fenway Park, one of the last historic ballparks in use in the country. Our tour will be followed by our second game of the tour as the Red Sox host the Mariners.
Overnight Boston
- Wednesday, August 25th
- We are scheduled to fly home this evening from Boston. This leaves the morning free for sightseeing some of the historic sites in the old part of town. Be sure to get out to Bunker Hill and the USS Constitution which are both on the Freedom Walk through town. It’s not known yet what time the ball game will be today. If they schedule a day game, you may be able to take in a portion of the game before heading out to Logan Airport for the flight back. This game is not included in the program, but we could likely find tickets for you.
