Cougar Tailgate at Sea...August 23-30, 2008

August 24th
The day is spent cruising north along the west side of Vancouver Island while guests enjoy the amenities aboard the ship. Get ready for the Cougar Team Trivia contest late in the day. There will be prizes awarded for the team that best demonstrates its arcane knowledge of Cougar football.
August 25th
RelaxingThe ship arrives in Juneau at 11:00am, and will be docked there until 9:30pm. In addition to the shops that line the main street in town, there are a variety of tours and excursions you should consider. These include a dog sled adventure on the glacier, a sightseeing copter tour, river float trip, or fly fishing.
August 26th

The ship will be cruising Yakutat Bay to arrive at Hubbard Glacier at 1:00pm. The ship will stop just offshore so that guests can enjoy this massive wall of ice. Hubbard Glacier is five miles wide and 40 stories tall, dwarfing even the largest cruise ships. Watch for seals basking on the floes created by the calving of this enormous glacier. Listen for the cracking of the ice and marvel in the deep blue of the centuries-old ice.

At 5:30pm this evening we will host our Football 101 session, nine minute presentation and Q&A session where Cougar Football is the topic. Our hosts will contribute personal stories, and will field questions from the crowd

August 27th
Oosterdam anchors at Sitka today from 8:00am until 5:00pm. Sitka is a great walking town, and there is much to see without taking one of the optional tours. Tour the Raptor Center or stroll through the Totem Park, all within walking distance of the ship. If you care to get the most out of your port stay, consider a tour that includes Halibut fishing, mountain biking, Sitka Highlights Tour with Russian Dancing, photography tour, or sea kayaking. After dinner, you may choose to enjoy the show, try your hand at blackjack, or watch a first-run movie.
August 28th
The ship docks in Ketchikan today from 7:00am until 1:00pm. There are many additional tours unique to Ketchikan, or you can use your time to shop in many of the stores near the cruise terminal.
August 29th
The day is free to enjoy the amenities of the Oosterdam. This evening we are docking in Victoria from 6:00pm until midnight. There are excursions to Butchart Gardens, tea at the Empress Hotel, and tours of the city, to name a few. Cougars will have the option to participate in a Pub Crawl limited to our tour group. Transportation will be provided and we will visit three different watering holes in the central part of the city.
August 30th
The Oosterdam returns to Seattle early. Passengers will disembark by 9:00am. Depending on game time, which could be scheduled for noon time, guests will go directly from the ship to the pre-game festivities at Qwest Field.
