Huskies at USC Trojans, Itinerary

September 27th to October 3rd, 2010

Monday, September 27th

Motor Coaches will depart for Vancouver, BC, Canada mid-morning from Sea-Tac Airport for the 2-3 hour drive to the pier in Vancouver. We will set the departure time with plans to arrive at the pier when boarding begins at 1:00pm. The Oosterdam sails at 5:00pm from Vancouver en-route to the first port of call. As frequent cruisers know, Holland America has a wide array of live entertainment, including 4 stages, and a piano bar. Guests may also enjoy cooking demonstrations and classes in the display kitchen.

Tuesday, September 28th

Oosterdam arrives in Astoria Oregon where guests are encouraged to participate in one of many shore excursions including golf, wine tasting, exploring the beach on the Oregon Coast, or a city tour of Astoria. You’re also free to wander and explore on your own. We are in port from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm.

Wednesday, September 29th

This is a full day at sea. Guests are encouraged to take advantage of the entertainment and programs offered by Holland America on board. There are culinary events in the show kitchen, wine tasting, first run movies, and a variety of lectures and music venues. Later in the day we will host a ninety minute football question and answer session. Don’t forget to pace yourself in order to have the energy to attend the show following dinner.

Thursday, September 30th

Our second day at sea will bring more of the same. There is a full casino on board, offering slot machines, table games, and poker tournaments. You might also consider attending the art auction or team trivia coordinated by the entertainment staff. Our last group session of the cruise will be our Husky Team Trivia Contest. Bring your husky minutiae to the table as we compete for prizes and the right to call yourself Trivia Champions. Celebrate our last evening aboard ship by meeting in a designated lounge after dinner.

Friday, October 1st

The ship arrives in Avalon on Catalina Island at 8:00 am for a nine hour port call. Kayaking is a great excursion option or you can explore some of the preserved natural areas of the island. We depart at 5:00 pm to continue south to San Diego as we enjoy our lat evening at Sea.

Saturday, October 2nd

The Oosterdam arrives in the Port of San Diego at 7:00am, disembarking passengers between 8am-10am. Our group will have a targeted departure time of 9am to board the coaches for the 90 minute drive north to our hotel. I am arranging early check in so that we have a few minutes to relax and enjoy the hotel amenities and eat lunch before continuing our journey to the LA Coliseum.

Game time is set for 5:00 pm, with a pre-game party scheduled to begin 3 hours prior to kick off. We will depart the hotel for the event at 1:30 pm. Your meal and first drink is included in the package costs. I anticipate that we should depart the stadium for the return to the hotel between 9:00-9:30 pm for an arrival at the hotel by 10:30.

Sunday, October 3rd

Check out time is noon. Flight schedules and transportation from Orange County are set at 2:00 pm and at 6:00 pm for anyone wishing to stay a little longer to take advantage of the beach or Disney. Transportation will be provided to the airport.
